About TermiteZone
TermiteZone gives every city in the Termite Belt a single, plain termite swarm-risk score for the day. It exists because termite swarms are local and weather-driven: whether winged termites fly today depends on which species live where you are, the time of year, and the weather. We wanted a clear, sourced forecast you can check, with the reasoning shown, not hidden.

The score is never influenced by money
TermiteZone carries no ads. When we connect you with a local pro we may earn a referral fee, and that is disclosed right where it happens, but it never changes a swarm-risk score. The forecast is built only from data.
Every claim traces to a named public source
The score is built from public data: termite species range maps from university extension and USDA, the building-code Termite Infestation Probability map, and live weather from Open-Meteo. Each page cites its sources.
Honesty about limits
The score is a defensible forecast of swarm conditions, not a validated count and not a guarantee. It cannot tell you whether termites are present at your address; only an in-person inspection can do that. The pages say so plainly.
We cover where termites actually are
TermiteZone covers the Termite Belt, the Southern and Sunbelt states where termite pressure and swarms are real, not the whole country. We would rather be accurate about a region than pretend termites are a uniform national problem.

The forecast
What you get
A daily swarm-risk score for 11,411 cities and towns across 26states, recomputed every morning from the latest weather. Each score combines the termite species established at that place, each one's published swarm season, and live temperature, humidity, and recent rainfall, so it moves with the weather and the season. Every page shows when it was last updated.

TermiteZone is an independent project built and maintained by Nathan Burnett. It isn't affiliated with any government agency or the data sources it cites. Questions and corrections are welcome, and the forecast is free.
